Fall is here, which means that colds and the flu will be approaching. WTAMU offers Student Medical Services.
“We offer many services such as lab testing, immunizations, and ex-rays,” Abigail Miller, student office assistant, said.
The fee is part of the enrollment cost at WT. There is a charge for diagnostic tests, injections and procedures. SMS offers discount programs at the local pharmacies.
Staff of SMS includes a board certified family physician, part-time orthopedic physician, two certified nurse practitioners, two registered nurses, and an X-ray technician. Medical students and nursing students also help.
SMS is located in the Virgil Henson Activities Center, Room 104, next to the pool. Office hours are Monday from 8 a.m-7 p.m., Tuesday through Friday from 8 a.m-5 p.m., and are closed on weekends. Scheduled appointments are required for routine visits.
