In & Out – Carol of the Lights

Thursday, Nov. 19 Dr. O’Brien, University President, will flip the switch that will illuminate the campus with the miles of lights strung up last week. The 19th annual Carol of Lights will kick off the holiday season.The WTAMU Chorale and Brass Ensemble will provide the sounds of Christmas.
Attendees will be given lighted candles and be invited to sing along. The U.S. Marine Corps will be hosting their annual Toys for Tots Drive. Everyone is encouraged to donate new toys. Cookies …

Boys will be Girls and Girls will be Boys! – In a “Cabaret”-drag style show called Turnabout.
The theme of Paso this year is Sock-Hop and will take place November 14 at 8 p.m. in the Special Events Room at Sunset Center in Amarillo.
Turnabout is the Panhandle Aids Support Organization’s (PASO) largest annual fundraiser.

Buffs Go Bowling – WT Selected for Kanza Bowl

West Texas A&M University was selected as the best non-playoff team from the Lone Star Conference and will compete against the University of Nebraska-Omaha of the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA) in the upcoming Kanza Bowl, sponsored by Lower Inc.
The teams were announced on Nov. 9 to play in the inaugural game in Topeka, Kansas.
The Kanza Bowl will be one of only two bowl games in Division II.

The WTAMU Lady Buff soccer team could not get past the University of Central Oklahoma in Lone Star Conference Championship on Nov. 8 at The Pitch.

This past Saturday,WTAMU held their annual Drive-by Fooding in the United Supermarket parking lot in Canyon. Area residents were encouraged to drive by and drop off canned and nonperishable food items.
The canned food drive was sponsored by C.O.R.E. Each year the drive benefits the High Plains Food Bank. The drive started at 10 a.m. and ended at 2 p.m.
