Lady Buffs Crowned LSC Champs: Volleyball Team Proceeds to Regional Tournament

The No. 6 WTAMU Lady Buff volleyball team claimed its fourth-straight Lone Star Conference title after defeating Abilene Christian, 3-1, on November 7. The win automatically qualifies the Lady Buffs for the NCAA Regional tournament.

The #6 Lady Buffs had a triumphant week on the road as they topped Tarleton State in three matches on Oct. 29, defeated St. Edward’s in four matches on Oct. 30, and then traveled to Kingsville to rout TAMU-Kingsville in three matches on Oct. 31.
The Lady Buffs conquered Tarleton with scores of 25-12, 25-14 and 25-18 and St. Edward’s with scores of 18-25, 25-19, 25-12 and 25-18. The win over Kingsville was a clean sweep: 25-21, 25-14 and 25-18.

The #6-ranked West Texas A&M Lady Buffs added another win to their record on October 10 as they defeated Central Oklahoma with scores of 25-9, 25-10 and 25-13. This triumph is the 50th-consecutive Lone Star Conference win for the Lady Buffs.

Lady Buffs Remain Perfect in Lone Star Conference

The West Texas A&M Volleyball program earned two more wins to remain unbeaten in the Lone Star conference, 4-0. The Lady Buffs swept Texas A&M-Commerce and Texas Woman’s University to post a 15-2 overall record.

The Lady Buffs are undefeated in the Lone Star Conference as they defeated Angelo State in The Box on Saturday, Sept. 19. The Lady Buffs beat the Rambelles 25-20, 25-17, and 25-17 in front of 628 fans.

WTAMU Lady Buff Volleyball finished the Britkare Lady Buff Classic Tournament with an untarnished 5-0 record. WT defeated Texas Permian Basin, Nova Southeastern, Grand Valley State, Western New Mexico and Lubbock Christian for the title.
Three Lady Buffs walked away with All-Tournament Honors, seniors Katie Rickwartz and Melissa Harper were named as All-Tournament recipients, alongside Laura Prinsen who was awarded the tournament MVP.
