This Saturday, the Wesley Foundation is hosting a Halloween Costume Party. It is set to have a spider theme. They have all kinds of fun activities planned including a costume contest, a picture scavenger hunt and a possible trick-or-treat contest. There will be desserts and drinks provided. Travelin’ Max is a comedian who is all about audience involvement. He moves around a lot and sings fun songs that fit into his comedy act. The cast and crew of the Branding Iron Theatre opens its season with perfomances of Fiddler on the Roof. The musical was selected to help mark the centennial of the universty. Both students and faculty will be featured in the production. The musical is considered one of the most endearing musicals of all time and will consist of many familiar songs. There are several perfomances throughout the next two weeks. So there are plenty of chances to go see it.

Fair on the Square is an annual Homecoming Week activity. Several vendors fill up Canyon’s square with their booths on Saturday morning. There are informational booths, marketing booths, raffles, along with many booths selling all kinds of merchandise. There are other events, such as the Lion’s Club pancake breakfast at 7 a.m. and the Homecoming Parade that starts at 11 a.m. Fair on the Square begins at 9 a.m. and continues until 3 p.m.

Homecoming festivities begin next week with several fun activities planned. There is at least one big event everyday. However, Friday the 9th is when things really start rolling. Pigskin Revue and the bonfire followed by the Homecoming dance, featuring Safety Suit, are the attractions for that night. Saturday morning is the parade, as well as Fair on the Square. Week’s Event – Tri-State Fair
The Tri-State Fair will begin it’s annual festivities this Friday. Events such as a parade and the PRCA Rodeo will be some of the big events featured. Other entertainment will include concerts by the likes of Mark Wills, Trent Willmon, Jeff Bates, and Heidi Newfield. Week’s Event – Free Movie Night
Bored on weekends? This weekend will feature some free entertainment. Sunday night the Varsity Theatre (located on 4th and 23rd) is having a free movie night, as it does every other Sunday throughout the semester. The feature film will be “Aliens in the Attic.” The concession stand will be offering $0.50 popcorn.
