The Prairie traveled to Dallas for the 100th annual Texas Intercollegiate Press Association (TIPA) convention on April 10, 2009. There are 61 colleges and universities currently in TIPA, with 55 represented at this year’s convention.
The Prairie received awards for their work in nine distinctive categories—special edition, in-depth reporting, feature story, sports page design, sports feature photo, general column, ad design, editorial and editorial cartoon.

Buff baseball falls short against SWOSU

WTAMU baseball could not seem to find its rhythm as they battled Southwestern Oklahoma on April 10-11 at the Dilla Villa.
The Buffs finished the weekend 1-3,  losing games one and two by scores of  8-1 and 16-2, and winning game three, 9-8. Game four of the series was cancelled due to rainy conditions. The Buffs improve to 19-26 overall record, (12-23 LSC).
