When it comes to housing while one goes to college, there are those who are proponents of living on campus, and there are those who move off campus as soon as they possibly can. There are undoubtedly positives and negatives to both views, which is why one of the best things a college student can do is live on campus to begin college then move off campus.

Living on campus is a great way to get used to the college experience. When living on campus, students are within walking distance from their classes, the library and the cafeteria. This makes doing schoolwork much easier and more manageable. Living on campus also allows students learn how to live on their own without too much responsibility, as well as allows them to meet other students and make friends.

However, it is a good idea to move off campus at some point during one’s college career. This allows one to get used to living in an apartment alone before going into the workforce full time.

This can ease the transition into life after college, as well as help students learn to live responsibly on their own.

If one does not move off campus, it can be hard to go directly from living on campus and going to class to living alone and working full time. However, if one does not live on campus, it can be hard to transition from living at home and going to high school to living alone and going to college.

It is also more difficult to go to class and get homework done without having started out living on campus.

So rather than choosing one housing situation over the other, the best course of action is to live on campus when one begins their college career. This will allow one to acclimate to the college environment, college classes and living away from home.

There is not a set amount of time one should live on campus, as everyone grows and matures differently, so it will vary from person to person.

However, it is important at some point to move off campus in order to take more responsibility for one’s own life. This also helps students learn how to live alone and be completely accountable for themselves.

Going to college and going on to the workforce are not easy things to do. Easing the transitions into these different parts of life can help one adjust to either college or working full time.
