The Lady Buff soccer team remained unbeaten this season 5-0-1, after posting a 3-1 win over UT-Permian Basin at the Pitch.
Ranked #1 in the region, West Texas A&M Universtiy took command in the first half with goals from Miriam Dominguez, senior forward, and Lindsey McHorse, sophomore midfielder.
Sophomore forward Becky Hewson gave the Lady Buffs a 3-0 lead with her goal in the 55th minute.
The #1 regional ranking is not something that the team takes lightly.
“Being the number one team in the region gives you a mentality of responsibility,” Head Coach Butch Lauffer, said. “It also gives you the mentality of people shooting and gunning for you, and you can’t afford to take any days off.”
The women continue to play well led by Dominguez and McHorse with four goals each this season, with freshman forward, Reem Moussa, next with three.
The next game for the Lady Buffs is Sept. 21 at New Mexico State.
