WTAMU men’s and women’s golf teams earned postseason conference honors in Thackerville, Okla. April 19.
The awards ceremony came as a kickoff to to the LSC Golf Championships. Among the honorees for the women were Hammerli Sriyai, Amanda Davidson, Whitney Osborne and Mollie Peterson.
Sriyai was named all-LSC first team. Davidson was selected as all-LSC second team. Osborne earned honorable mention and Peterson was recognized for her academic achievements on the LSC Women’s Golf Commissioner’s Honor Roll.
On the men’s side, Brandon Holub and Roy Holdeman were recognized for their academic achievements. Holub was named to the Lone Star Conference men’s golf all-Academic Team and Holdeman garnered honors for the LSC Comissioner’s Honor Roll.
“To have six athletes represented shows a lot about the program,” Meredith Jameson, head women’s coach, said. “I’m really proud of them and their efforts.”
In order to gain eligibilty for LSC academic honors, student-athletes must maintain at least a 3.20 GPA and be a sophomore.
“These boys work really hard in and out of the classroom,” Jimmy Jameson, head men’s coach, said. “These awards really show their dedication to school and golf.”
