WTAMU Lady Buffs wrapped up their regular season strong pulling in two conference wins at home.
Texas A&M-Kingsville was the Lady Buff’s first victim.
WT swept the match in three sets, winning 25-10, 25-15 and 25-19.
That night was particularly special because it was senior night for the two Lady Buff seniors, Sara Contreras, libero and Alyssa Bromwell, defensive specialist.
The twosome credits their coaches for helping keep them focused on winning.
“Our coaches are great,” Contreras said. “They keep us focused by setting goals for every match, like getting eight blocks or serving aggressively to get them [the opponent] out of system.”
Bromwell shared a similar opinion.
“A big part of how we’ve remained disciplined throughout the season is because our coaches know we want a national championship,” Bromwell said.
The Lady Buffs rounded out the weekend with another sweep against Tarleton State University. They won with scores 25-12, 25-13 and 25-23.
These wins helped the Lady Buffs finish the regular season with an unblemished Lone Star conference record of 13 wins and a 30-4 overall record.
WT will host the Lone Star Conference tournament at The Box, Nov. 13-15.
